Race update from 6-13-24 at State Park Speedway with MidWest Dash Series

This week we had on our schedule another Midwest Dash Series race. This one was at State Park Speedway. We where there a few weeks back to have some fun. We did. Found issues. Learned what we needed to try different. Well, it paid off.

First practice session we was turning about 2ish tenths slower then what we where last time we qualified. But we also found an issue with one of my sensors. Got that I hope fixed. Made couple small adjustments to the car. Got it faster. Kept at it. Here we was just doing what we could. At this point we was 2nd quick over all. But there was a few drivers that did not have transponders in during practice because they got there late.

Qualifying time. Went out just hoping we are in the top 5. Seems as of late, I’ve been having issues qualifying. Group qualifying and I am lined up behind the other fastest guy. First lap I sent it a little to hard and pushed bad going into the turn. Here I am thinking, well, this is going to suck as I am pushing it hard coming out of the turns. I was just hoping to be right there and learn from my mistake. Ended up getting quick time on the next lap. I could not believe it. I will take it though.

Heat race, I started in the rear of 8 of us. The rule is at the track, you can’t go 3 wide unless you do it on the outside. Well, I know I could of to a point down the straits, but I was not sure about the corners. So I did what I could and only got to 5th.

Feature time, I started 12th. I had to bide my time and make moves when able to. Once I could, I went for them. Late race caution came out and bunched us back together. We took the green and I went to work as fast as I could. At this point I was 8th or so and I just kept pushing it on the outside groove making things happen. At the end, it was a good battle between Anderson and myself. Anderson got me but I did finish 5th.

Over all it was a great night. Yes I would have been more happy with a Win. But, it is tough out there. I even did better on my interview then I did at Fest a few years ago. Hahahhaha.

Next race looks to be Slinger this Sunday. Now that could change. Anything is possible. Maybe not.

Can’t thank my wife Heather for putting up with this week in and week out. And the rest of my crew Rebecca and Ken. You guys did awesome. Did everything that needed to get done.

Can’t thank my sponsors enough either for their support. So please, go and support them. Get their products or services. Their help in this is what allows us to continue to do this.
