The reason behind the new Paint and Number

So i was asked by many people Saturday on why the number change and what was behind the paint scheme.

The paint scheme and number is from Wayne Whitford. He got into racing back in the 80’s because of the group my family was with and raced. As time went on, Wayne continued to race and had some good success in everything.

Wayne had been keeping tabs on me when i came back and started racing in 2015. In late 2020, i went to a Thursday practice to get tires from the track and he was in Turn One Tap. I went in to thank Terry and talk to someone when Wayne said hi and introduced himself to me. Talked about the old days and said he had some pictures from back then of my dad and the guys. Gave me his number and we started talking. Invited him to the shop and we kept talking and everything. He was intrigued with the FWD class. I invited him out every chance he wanted to and we have grown to what we are today. His experience in RWD and learning the FWD has also helped me grow and get better racing.

Wayne has been coming to the shop every day he can to help out. He has taught me a lot and helped me understand what i did not know.

After the 2024 season was done. I asked him if we could do a throwback to one of his old cars. He said he would be honored. He asked me what one. I said, you pick. As you can see, the paint scheme is really close to what he had. Wayne did all of the painting and trying to make it look good. My sister took the old photo of his number and make it look as close to original as she could. He said it was perfect. The numbers on his old car was hand drawn and painted on.

So this year is different over all. Most of you know i like to do throwbacks. My dad. My Uncle, and now to Wayne Whitford. I cant thank you enough for teaching me everything that you have and working with me through the last several years. Lets have some fun again this year. Thanks again for everything.
