Last Saturday we returned back to the track were it all began at. Jefferson Speedway will always have a spot that i will go to and support when i can.
It was season opener at the ol cornfield. And i was not able to make it to practice. Showed up just after qualifying got done for Internationals. Sorry but family and friends come first.
So we got the car ready to get our Lincoln lap after all the other classes got done. 1 lap. Cold tires, and not fully sure how the car would be, we qualified 5th. I was happy.
Heat race time. Started inside 2nd row. We all took the green and everyone doing what they could, i got to the front first and did what i could to take home the first win of the season.
Feature time. Started inside 4th row. Green flag flew and everyone started battling for positions. As i make the bid for the lead, couple cars get tangled bringing out the caution. Double file restart put Jason Uttech on the outside of me. Green flag flew again and we battle like we always do, after a lap or 2, he takes yhe lead. I am doing everytjing i can to stay there and an issue happens. I started blowing water past the radiator cap and through my over flow with 5 to go and had to pull the pin.
We will get things figured out and get back on it.
